Everyone has a different reason that connects them to Reno. For me, it's the feeling of the breeze on summer evenings and the smell of sagebrush. I also love walking around UNR.
I really like the small town aspect that it presents. I've been here for about 15 years (almost 16) and got to know a lot of people in college and after. Those people are starting to become leaders in the community (what happened to me?) and the fact that I know them, and anybody CAN know them, makes my experience here pretty interesting and fun.
In many ways we really are "the biggest little city". We have a quirky, unique culture that can't be duplicated, while a natural setting that allows you to ski and golf in the same day. I think we're really getting starting to grow in good ways now - beyond the stereotypes that the general public many think about our town. And I have to agree... warm summer nights, clean spring rains (like today's) and those snow covered winter mornings make it more than memorable.
