You've had your bar conversation, but let's get down to what we all care about - cheap food. Where do you get the best meal under $10 (if you're a student, feel free to keep it under $7)? All kinds. Do you hit Indian food buffets, Pho, that hot dog guy by the river? Burgers, tacos, wings? Line 'em up.
glad we abandoned the bars for a bit. we hit pneumatic diner pretty often. it's cheap and you get lots of food for what you pay. the calzone is always a safe bet ... and there's always the india kabob and curry lunch buffet, under $8, and they make different dishes, so you don't always get the same spread. and they're better than curry's in the costco center. that's for sure!
1. China East - Several of their dishes come in under $10, including their Sweet and Sour Chicken with Steamed Rice.
2. Woody's Hot Dogs downtown. If he isn't missing fingers, then he isnt the true Woody.
3. Starbucks Pre-Packaged Sandwhich + Odwalla lunch at Starbucks on California and Virginia.
4. A hispanic lady sells fresh Tamales in my neighborhood for $1 each each weekend.
5. Port of Subs - Easily can escape for under $10.
6. Nick's Greek Deli on Moran and Virginia

This is a new favorite of mine. Most of the items on the menu are $5.95 but don't let the price fool you, its excellent italian food with gourmet aspirations. Serving portions may not satisfy the heavy eater but I was filled up decent enough gauging myself as a 15 on a scale of 1 - 10 how heavy can you eat!

When I am downtown and in a hurry, this is my place:
Taco Del Mar
95 N Sierra St
Reno, NV 89501
(775) 329-9393 www.tacodelmar.com
Nu Yalk Pizza. You can get a couple slices and even a soda or a beer. Good stuff. Another old Reno place - Gold N Silver. You're sure to see someone you know who claims they don't eat there.
I am really partial to Beunos at the Mayberry Landing strip mall at Mayberry and McCarren. Kick-ass shrimp burritoes, friendly owner/staff, good salsa. Their prices could be a little lower (I think the shrimp burrito is in the $7.95 range), but I still go. Often.
