Volunteers Needed! Help UNR Students Build the First Student-Run Organic Farm
What’s going on? UNR students working to develop a local food source for the campus community have been preparing the land and planting crops in the greenhouse all summer. We now need support from the community to get the farm off to a good start. We need help double-digging raised beds, laying drip irrigation, transplanting greenhouse starts and cover crops
How can I help? Come join the Environmental Action Team (EnAcT) as they work on their Organic Garden. More volunteers are needed for the last three weekends in July (12-13, 19-20 & 26-27). Please join us every Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:00am. Assistance is also needed for watering the garden every morning and evening for the rest of the season.
Where is it located? The garden is located on Field 3A of the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station, north of the new green house complex on 1000 Valley Road at the University of Nevada, Reno.
What should I bring? Your great work ethic, Snacks, Sunscreen, a hat, the kids, plenty of water for yourself, all your friends…
Be prepared to get your hands dirty! Donations gratefully accepted!!
