Reno Baby!

People who dig Reno, Nevada - join us!

The editors of RLife Magazine are thinking of doing a story on Northern Nevadans who have appeared in reality tv or game shows. If you, or someone you know, has shared your life on the small screen, please let us know the details! Due to our deadlines, please post by Monday, July 7. Thank you!

I am currently on a reality show that appears on SNCAT more or less every two weeks. It used to be on weekly but the in-fighting died down after a few members were "voted off". The producers hold the season ending cliff hanger in November every two years when half of us are required to go to a form of "Tribal Council".
Almost every episode someone says or does something the others can't stand and is "shunned" for a while. This usually lasts until someone ELSE says or does something odd that sends them to Shunsylvania.
Unlike other reality shows, I am not followed around 24/7 by a camera (that I KNOW of) but we "cross media lines". By that I mean that while we are on television, we often get reported on by the print media and often even radio and bloggers are always commenting on our zany antics. I know that also happens on other shows but we are able to see the reporting in real time and it actually effects the outcome of the show. We are much more interactive than any other television reality show.
I hope this post gets to you in time, I think I am currently on the train to Shunsylvania.

I love this description of city council meetings. I don't know how you guys do it - but I sure do admire your dedication to this town!

Ha! That's frickin' hilarious. I might know very little about you or your platform... but you have earned my vote regardless. Good day.

Gotta have Crush, from American Gladiators.

Is Crush actually from Reno? I heard she was from Vegas.

Well, the no-brainer is Joey Gilbert from the the first season of the Contender.

Yes, we've talked to Joey. He'll be part of it. Good call. :)

Oh, and there was the family in the North Valley area that was on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition... or whatever they're called.

You got the show right, but the family's in Stagecoach. Anyone else?

That counts, right?

OK, just one more... Reno 911. You can usually find Lieutenant Dangle cruising 4th street off shift. ;-)

That does count. Absolutely.

I would love it if it was true about Liet. Dangle. :)
